Why LYNX exists
A collection of good gear can still make a poor kit.
A capable filter is less useful without a practical way to collect and carry water. Medical equipment cannot help if it is buried. Two backup tools add little value if they fail for the same reason. Good products can still become a poor kit when the complete load is slow to use or difficult to maintain.
LYNX was created to solve those problems before the equipment is needed. We begin with the job and the person carrying it, then account for access, weight, upkeep, and replacement. The goal is a load whose parts support one another and whose tradeoffs are understood.

Founder context
Experience made the limits visible.
Charles Quarto founded LYNX after nearly two decades in law enforcement.
That background sits alongside a lifetime outdoors and the day-to-day work of evaluating equipment through Stay Ready Outdoors.
Those experiences reinforced a practical view of preparedness: time narrows options, stress makes simple tasks harder, and important equipment only helps when it can be reached and understood. They also brought the less visible details into view, including shelf life, charging, maintenance, replacement, clothing layers, and the vehicle carrying the load.
LYNX grew from that standard. Keep critical equipment accessible, understand why each item is there, and make every component earn the space it takes.
